Winter 2024: Metro Atlanta Festivals and Events



Though the holidays are over, there are still plenty of events, celebrations, and activities taking place around Atlanta this January and February. I’ve listed a few below, but I would love to hear from you if there are any winter traditions that I may be missing.

License to Chill Lake Lanier: Snow tubing, ice skating, carnival rides, hot cocoa, and more! Get outdoors for some fresh air and family-friendly fun at Lake Lanier’s Margaritaville. Opened every weekend through the end of February.

WildWoods AGLOW: Fernbank’s WildWoods: AGLOW is a multi-sensory adventure that immerses visitors in the wonders of nature through a blend of the real environment, contemplative music and glowing displays. WildWoods AGLOW will be held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights through February 25th.

Enchanted Woodland Trail: The fairies and gnomes have been busy building whimsical houses along Chattahoochee Nature Center’s forested trails. These beautiful and enchanting features of the winter woods will be on display until February 29th.

Model Train Show: The 64th Annual Atlanta Model Train Show will take place at Duluth’s Gas South Convention Center on Saturday, January 20th. Several large model layouts will be available for viewing, plus over 300 tables of sale items from respected model dealers.

Atlanta Winter Wine Festival: This year’s festival takes place on Saturday, January 20th at Guardian Works and is divided into two separate sessions (12 pm – 4 pm and 6 pm – 10 pm). Guests can sample over 50 different wines, beers, and ciders while listening to live music.

Jurassic Quest: Walk with larger-than-life dinosaur herds with your friends and family as Jurassic Quest roars through Atlanta! Jurassic Quest will take place at Cobb Galleria Friday, January 26 – Sunday, January 28, 2024.

North Atlanta Home Show: Taking place at the Gas South Convention Center in Duluth from January 26th – 28th, this popular home show will showcase hundreds of home improvement products, companies and services, as well as host seminars related to home and yard maintenance.  

Braves Fest: Braves Fest is back with a full-day of celebrations on Saturday, January 27th. The event spans across Truist Park and The Battery Atlanta and features a variety of exciting events such as player autographs, player photos, shopping, dining, interactive entertainment, and player interactions not available any other time of the year! Admission and parking is FREE. 

Hamilton: It’s back! Hamilton is coming to Fox Theater from January 30th through February 25th. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased here.

Lunar New Year Festival at Stone Mountain Park: This Asian-inspired festival pays tribute to Korean, Chinese, and Vietnamese culture and traditions and features a special Lunar New Year Drone and Light Show, lighted parade, cultural craft activities, live entertainment, and other elements. The Festival will take place February 10th – 11th, 17th – 19th, and 24th – 25th. 

Atlanta Jewish Film Festival: The 2024 Atlanta Jewish Film Festival will take place February 13th through February 26th. Learn more about this year’s films, ticket pricing, and theater locations on the official AJFF website.

Orchid Daze at Atlanta Botanical Garden: From February 14th – April 14th, explore the work of Atlanta artist Lillian Blades whose reflective collages form the perfect foil for the Garden’s extraordinary collection of colorful orchids.

Atlanta Winter Beer Festival: This year’s Beer Festival will take place on Saturday, February 15th at Guardian Works and will feature over 150 beers, live music, food trucks, and live music.
