The Best Blueberry Farms in Metro Atlanta

If you’ve been wanting to treat your family to a blueberry picking excursion, now is the time to do it! The perfect summer activity, the “u-pick” blueberry season in Atlanta typically runs from mid-June to early August. Below is a list of some of the best local blueberry farms in the area. Please remember to contact the farm directly before planning your day, as most do not hold consistent operating hours.

Mercier Orchards: Blue Ridge’s Mercier Orchards’ Farm plans to have u-pick blueberries starting in mid June and blackberries in July. Take in the beauty of the 300-acre farm with a tractor ride, and stop by the market for delicious food and treats.

Southern Belle Farms: A popular farm in the fall, Southern Belle Farms in McDonough is also a fun destination in the Summer! In addition to the u-pick blueberries, the farm offers kid activities like pedal carts, train rides, slides, and jumping pillows.

Mitcham Farm: Located in Oxford, Georgia, an hour east of Atlanta, MItcham Farm also sells fresh donuts, ice cream, pies, jams, and slushies.

Tuckaway Blueberry Farm: This family-owned farm located in Loganville has more than 500 rabbit eye blueberry bushes.

Fleeman’s U-Pick Farm: Also family-owned, Fleeman’s U-Pick Blueberry Farm is located in Winder, just between Atlanta and Athens.

Cool Springs Blueberry FarmBlueberries and blackberries are available for both u-pick or packaged at Gainesville’s Cool Springs Blueberry farm. You can also enjoy fresh refreshments and shop arts and crafts from local artisans.

Remember to refrigerate your unwashed berries soon after picking and wash the berries just before eating. If refrigerated, fresh-picked blueberries will keep 10 to 14 days. If freezing, wash the berries and let them dry before putting them in a container to freeze.
